The 2023 Budget Address
I proudly announced the 2023 Proposed Budget yesterday which includes:
• No Property Tax Increase.
* Removing the Sales Tax on Energy (eff. 12/1/2022) at a cost savings to the average peson/family equivalent to an 8.4% County Property Tax cut.
• Re-establishing a Commissioner of General Services to oversee Purchasing, Facilities, Capital Projects and Information and Communication Systems.
• $1.45 million for additional positions to strengthen services.
• $1.5 million for college tuition assistance for volunteer fire fighters and emergency responders. That equates to $6,000 in aid to each participant.
• $518,200 or available increases in funding to nonprofit contract agencies and 224 agencies.
